A native of Rocky Mount, North Carolina,
Dr. Patseavouras is a 1961 graduate
of the University of North Carolina
School of Medicine. He then served
a year of internship at the George
Washington University Hospital in
Washington, D.C. This was followed
by residencies in general surgery
and otolaryngology, head and neck
surgery at North Carolina Memorial
Hospital in Chapel Hill. Dr. Patseavouras
began private practice in Greensboro,
North Carolina in 1968 in head and
neck and facial plastic surgery. In
1985 Dr. Patseavouras limited his
practice exclusively to facial plastic
and cosmetic surgery. Dr. Patseavouras
founded the Outpatient Surgical Center,
Greensboro's first office-based outpatient
center licensed by the state of North
Carolina. It was also accredited by
the Accreditation for Ambulatory Healthcare,
Inc. The Center now serves as an office-based
surgical center know as the Patseavouras
Center for Plastic and Laser Surgery.
Board certifications held by Dr. Patseavouras
include the American Board of Facial
Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery,
the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery
and the American Board of Otolarngology.
He is a Fellow of the following organizations:
American Academy of Facial Plastic
and Reconstructive Surgery; American
Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and the
American Academy of Otolaryngology.
In these academies and societies,
he has served on many committees,
including public relations and ambulatory
surgery, and has held the national
office of Vice President of Public
Affairs in the American Academy for
Facial Plastic and Reconstructive
Surgery. He was a member of the Board
of Directors of the Accreditation
Association for Ambulatory Health
Care and served on the organization's
Executive Committee as Chairman of
the Surveyor Training and Education
Committee. In 2003, he received the
Outstanding Achievement Award from
the Foundation for Facial Plastic
Surgery.
Dr. Patseavouras
is strongly committed to continuing
medical education and research. He
has authored a number of scientific
papers and has been a speaker at national
meetings on facial plastic and cosmetic
surgery. He has been a leader in this
field by being the first in our area
to perform such procedures as liposuction,
laser surgery, transconjuctival blepharoplasty
and endoscopic brow lifts. The National
Healthcare Marketing Report honored
him with its Silver Medal in 1986.
His community
interests include the Carolina Theatre
Commission, the United Arts Council,
the Greensboro Ballet and the Greensboro
Opera Company.
The Greensboro
Area Chamber of Commerce presented
him with the O. Henry Award in recognition
of outstanding contributions to the
arts and cultural development of the
community. The Altrusa Club of Greensboro
presented Dr. and Mrs. Patseavouras
with its annual award in recognition
of significant leadership in the cultural
growth of the community. |
